Narrative:
From 'THE BOLT' newsletter October 1989:

"The language may have been the same, but that was the only thing that was easy. Everyone tremendously enjoyed driving on the left, the speed demons on the motorways, the roundabouts and the lorries. Shifting on the left gave driving a new dimension. The weather was hot, hot, hot -- the worst in a decade and a drought to go with it. The 10m tent in leather shooting gear was bad enough, but the temporary firing line (cement blocks mounted on clay) were not always stable and may have cost us a medal. The tent was not large enough to give the competitors much room for their gear and the spectator section was one row deep. Concentration was critical. The 30m range was its usual configuration accompanied by interesting wind patterns.

The opening ceremonies were held in the stadium with the Penn British Legion Youth Band and the usual speeches by dignitaries. The big hit was the wolf mascot (Willy Wolf) carrying a Hobby Bow and everyone wanted their picture taken. There was also a presentation by the Societa Balestrieri della Ghiera from Assisi of ancient Italian crossbows in period costume."

At the Annual Meeting the following were elected as USAA Officers for two years starting January 1, 1990:
President: Rolfe Smith
Vice President: Len Remaly
Treasurer: Jim Meredith
Secretary: Nancy Eaton
Executive Officer: Richard Neill

Notes from Bruce Meredith:
10 meter event - There was a large tent 60 yards long by 17 yards deep. No center supports. All steel frame. 9 feet high peaking at 20 feet high. 40 firing points. Targets to top of my chest. 3.5 feet width from target to target. Firing line was leveled sand, then plywood sheets and then 24" square concrete stones - 2 deep. RIKA target carriers.

Waiting on more input.

Jim Remaly was the only USA junior to shoot 30m and it was his first 30m match.
After a slow start on the first string, he finished with an excellent 97 and 96.
